San Diego Folk Song Society Annual Campout July 2001

The annual campout is planned this year for the weekend of July 21st-22nd.  The Sierra Club�s Foster Lodge has been reserved from 11:00 am Saturday through 12:00 pm Sunday.  The Lodge has rest rooms, seating, tables and sleeping pads, but no showers.  Guests can sleep out under the stars, put up a tent, use a modest-sized RV, or just pull up a mat in the lodge.  No pets please.  Numerous hiking trails are available nearby, and there will be plenty of pickin� and singin� throughout the weekend.

Our traditional potluck supper will be on Saturday evening.  The kitchen is equipped to heat food, keep it cold and wash up afterwards.  Please bring a potluck dish that feeds 4-6 persons as follows, depending on the first letter of your last name: A-G, main dish; H-N, dessert, bread or side dish; O-Z, salad.  The Society will provide coffee and tea, but bring any other beverages and your own plates and utensils.  A large trash bag will help us all to haul everything we brought in back out.  (No trash pick-up on the Sunrise Highway.)  After supper, we�ll "circle up" and play �till we run down.

A few reminders:

• Sign up for close-up/clean-up duty as you arrive.  We will plan to leave the place in better condition than how we found it.  Help to keep it as clean as you would your own home.
• Please sign the Foster Lodge log book in addition to the SDFSS Camp Log.
• All vehicles must be parked facing out.  Consider sharing a ride with a friend.
• Please wear a name tag, provided, to acquaint us with each other and with the Sierra Club members using the facilities.  "Don�t be a stranger."

The campout coordinators for the weekend will be a combination of SDFSS officers and Sierra Club members.  You may come for any part or for the whole weekend.  Please take the time now to complete the attached form and return it to Greg immediately with a check payable to "SDFSS" for the persons in your party.  Our treasury covers the refundable deposit, and participants cover the actual Lodge fee, $12.00 each.  If you are a Sierra Club member please tell us.  Call Greg at (619) 295-4064 with any questions.
