Rilla Heslin

Rilla R. Heslin (at left)
     was born in La Mesa, California and is one of the two co-founders of Windbourne.  She sings contralto, and plays the bodhrán and other rhythm instruments.  Rilla has been singing since the sixties, received opera voice training, also plays guitar, though not often on stage, and she is one of the principal songwriters of Windbourne.

Karen R. Dobson Rodgers (at right)
      was born in Point Loma, California and grew up in various parts of San Diego County.  She is the other co-founder of Windbourne.  An accomplished guitarist, having six years of classical training.  Karen plays classical, 12-string, acoustic, and bass guitars, as well as rhythm instruments.  She sings second soprano with Windbourne.  In addition she is the Webmaster for Windbourne, the San Diego Folk Song Society, San Diego Folk Heritage, and Eric Bogle.

Harold Groot
Harold Groot
is a native of Richland, Washington.  His first instrument was the tuba and played other brass instruments.  Currently, he plays 12-string and classical guitar, an array of recorders, penny whistles, and rhythm instruments.  Harold wrote the award winning song "Baby Vampire Boogie" (also known as "Fly By Night"), "Mercury Our First Steps", and wrote the words for "Free In The Harbor Again," which also won an award.  Harold has a pleasant baritone voice.  He is on every Windbourne album to date, Echoes On The Wind, To Touch A Dream, Winter's Celebrations, on all the compilation albums Windbourne appears on, and, as a solo artist, on two DAG Production compilation releases.  Harold lives in Northern California.




Katherine A. Ring
Katherine A. Ring
hails from California, and was born in La Mesa.  She is a writer, anthropologist, and musician.  She has a clear soprano voice as well.  In Windbourne she played keyboards, flute, and, guitar.  She is an accomplished keyboard player, and won an award at Con-Chord for her skill.  Kathy wrote "Sometime Tomorrow," and "Sunlight and Shadows."  She appears on Echoes On The Wind, To Touch A Dream, Winter's Celebrations, and several compilation albums Windbourne appears on.  These days Kathy is very active in convention organization.






Donna Banzhof
is a multi-talented woman originally from Arizona.  An accomplished artist, she's a painter, sculptor, as well as a very talented musician.  She's played 12 string and bass guitar, mandolin, and dabbled at keyboards.  Donna's co-written songs with both Rilla Heslin, and Karen Rodgers.  She appears on Windbourne's first album, Echoes On The Wind.  Donna is currently pursuing her artwork full time.
